The Pinot Noir explained by Professor Luigi Moio

At the Aquapetra Resort in Telese Terme, near Benevento, presentation of some famous wines of Burgundy. The event was directed by Professor Luigi Moio, who explained to the participants all the peculiarities of the Pinot Noir.

Evening of great value at the Aquapetra Resort in Telese Terme (BN).

At the presence of Professor Luigi Moio, professor of enology at the University of Naples, and many other wine lovers who came to Benevento to taste some Burgundy wines, the eight wines offered by the Sommelier Association of Benevento were tasted in this unmissable event.

The professor explained the organizational and working methods of French companies, in which production techniques and legislation still appear ahead of what happens in our country. In Italy, especially in the South, there is still an attitude of commercial confrontation between wineries and wineries. In France, instead, there is much more collaboration among entrepreneurs, who tend to collaborate with each other for the common growth of labels and vines.

If in France, in fact, every entrepreneur has a commercial position and a young producer will always have the chance to find his space without ever competing with other companies, in Italy it is still upwards. Each producer will tend to always consider his wine as the best, just like in France a new owner who owns a small plot of land will never be able to relate to those who produce a wine, for centuries, always in the same vineyard.

Unfortunately, in Italy the concepts of cru and terroir are still quite far from the logic of producers, especially in the South, and apart from areas of Tuscany like Bolgheri and in large areas of Piedmont where Barolo is produced, we still have a long way to do.

As for wines, interesting drinks: all the products offered, including the Volnay, the Pommard Pezerolles and the Monthelie 1er Cru, were revealed in all their freshness and drink.

A small note to the event should be done only the lack of a little ‘simple food to dilute, in the stomach of the tasters, the eight glasses proposed.
