Five songs to start 2019

We don’t live only of nectar, here at Ritmodivino, but also of art and above all music! We recommend you five great tracks to start the best of this 2019. Maybe accompanying them with your favorite glass …

Usually, in Italy, the year always begins in the company of a good bottle of sparkling wine.

Whatever is the bottle you have opened at midnight on January 1st, we at Ritmodivino want to offer you five tracks that we have chosen for you. Traces that – according to us – may be the ideal soundtrack in this 2019.

Five songs that you can listen to even accompanying you to a glass of wine, as in the best tradition of our portal.

1. TIME AFTER TIME in the MILES DAVIS version
A piece that needs no introduction. Rearrangement of the homonymous piece of 1984 by Cyndi Lauper, based on the album “She’s so unusual”, is a warm and persuasive song, a ballad that – despite its calm – evokes happy emotions and times gone by.

2. THE VIOLENT SCENE (from ZABRISKIE POINT), PINK FLOYD
Very rare trace of the English group, created for the film Zabriskie Point by Michelangelo Antonioni. Destined for the sequence of clashes between protesters and police of the film of the same name, it was discarded by the director, but later became the base of Us and Them, one of the most famous pieces of Pink Floyd.

3. NOTHING SERIOUS by ROY HARGROVE
A hardbop piece of the artist who died this year and discovered by Wynton Marsalis. A song sparkling and suitable for the new year, to be heard being dragged by a music that recalls the cheerful feelings of New Year’s Eve.

4. THE BEST IS YET TO COME by FRANK SINATRA
A song that brings the mind back to the days between Christmas and New Year, maybe in the streets of Las Vegas, blinding lights and glittering sequins. A way to celebrate once in a lifetime as a Hollywood star.

5. ALL THIS TIME by STING
Song originally written by Sting to remember the death of his father, but that – in fact – has a warm and reminiscent sound, not at all sad. Suitable to remember the past times and those that will come.
