“CIAK IRPINIA 2018, THE HARVEST ON STAGE” ON 19 MAY AT MONTEMILETTO

THE LEGEND OF THE IRPINIA WINES FORETOLD TO OPERATORS AND WINELOVERS

The great wines of Campania on the catwalk to ‘ Ciak Irpinia, the harvest goes on stage’ , the exhibition dedicated to viticulture in Irpinia promoted and organized by the Consortium for the Protection of Wines of Irpinia . The event is scheduled for May 19 in Montemiletto , in the picturesque setting of the Castello della Leonessa. Specialized press, national and international, producers, technicians and experts will meet with the aim of providing a choral representation of the state of the art of enology irpina, a territorial gem recognized nationally.

Spotlight on the most important and exclusive productions: Fiano di Avellino DOCG, Greco di Tufo DOCG, Taurasi DOCG and Irpinia Falanghina Doc. Four Italian historical names whose wines, starting from 9.30, will be examined blindly by an expert commission . The focus is to outline the distinctive features of the vintages currently released on the market according to the respective production regulations, and in particular 2017 for whites and 2014 for the Irpinia red noble.

THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PRESS

THE PROGRAM OF THE DAY

At the end of the blindtasting, at 12.15, we will open an in-depth session that includes the presentation of the works of the Territorial Technical Commission chaired by Prof. Luigi Moio and composed of a representative of winemakers operating in the Irpinia territory. The technical analysis of the agrarian agricultural trend will be the prelude to a moment of synthesis between journalists, experts, oenologists and producers, whose purpose is to arrive at a qualitative evaluation of the grape harvested. The data will be made public on the website of the Consorzio Tutela Vini D’Irpinia.

From 13.15 to 15.30 space to walkaroundtasting, reserved for accredited press . Accompany the wine tasting counters, curated directly by the participating producers, some locations dedicated to food, organized by the Agrichef association (for this stage it is necessary to accredit by sending a request to the following email address: press@consorziovinidirpinia.it )

In the afternoon, from 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm, a walkaroundtasting will be held open to winelovers and sommeliers. Also for this phase of opening of the tasting tables of the wines of the participating companies it will be necessary to credit by sending e-mail to the following address: segreteria@guyotmedia.it).

Two guided tours are also planned, at 5.30 pm and 6.30 pm, at the Castello della Leonessa, with a tour of the rooms.

“Ciak Irpinia”, now in its second edition, aims to make the point of the situation in the Irpinia viticulture year by year, through the tasting and technical analysis of the wines of the current vintages. An appointment awaited by producers, experts, sommelier and winelovers, united by the passion for the brand ‘Irpinia’.
